Default Thermostat Part Number

Do any of you have any experience using a 180° Duralast or Murray 41680 thermostat from either Autozone or OReilly? Trying to locate a 180 tstat available at a local parts store that drops in without modification. This would be for an 03 5.7 Ram.

You won't see much benefit. I used one for a while, but I missed having heat in the winter. If you don't have any other mods that warrant the change, I'd say leave it be. The one I had was a Motorad, but I didn't keep the part number.

The mods I have are currently are in my signature, namely the Superchips 3815 tuner.

I will say that this truck doesn't heat soak or get as warm as the 11 Durango we have with the Eagle motor.

I used the Jet 180* for close to 10 years. Stainless and about $20 at Advance. It did richen the mixture on my truck a little bit which it needed after the tuner and headers worked to lean me out a tad...

I don't get the no heat?? Specially in Florida. I am running the Jet 180 stat with a bigger Hemi rad to cool my 4.7. Even in the extreme cold we had last winter there was no problem with heat. I do admit it does take a few extra minutes to get up to temperature.
