Default 2007 1500 radio ?

Hello,
I recently bought a pioneer CD Receiver to replace the stock radio in my ram.
It comes with a short wire harness and i had to buy a corresponding wire harness to plug into the existing stock one. I soldered the corresponding wire on the harness. once i removed the stock radio id noticed it had 2 plug in harnesses into it. the new pioneer one has only one harness.

my ? is, what happends to the other harness?

any help advice would be appreciated.

thanks so much
Denno

Should have purchased the correct harnesses to start with. Where did you buy the radio from?

To my knowledge a lot of the new electronic systems are integrated in the radio. I believe one of the harnesses deal with the canbus so you will have to get the correct ones.

Do you have the factory amplifier?

If not (REF, REC, RAQ, and RAK radios), you need:
C2R-CHYNA C2R-CHYNA

If you're replacing the Alpine system, an REQ (navigation), or any factory amplified system:
PAC C2R-CHY4 PAC C2R-CHY4

Metra also makes similar harnesses. Be sure to follow the directions exactly when installing these, as you usually have to initialize the module before turning the vehicle or radio on. Unless you want to jury-rig the installation, these harnesses are required for CANBUS vehicles.
