Default BBK header problem.

Have a 05 dodge ram 1500 5.7 hemi with BBk shorty headers. Had a ticking noise sound like header leak change the gasket with a new gasket from BBK and still sounds like a header leak. Checked everything even changed the gasket out and still no change. Wondering if the header might have a hole around the flange, checked it looks good. Don't know, has anyone had the same problem before.

Will check that next, sounds like the noise is coming from the second tube from the front. If that's the case, then I have no idea how that happened. The bad thing is I just got rid of the factory logs and the headers have been on the truck not even a year.

It is warped, so will need to replace it. The company that I bought them from is replacing them with new one's. I bought a new factory set and will be selling the BBK's when I get them.

I cant see them being warped. Those flanges are 3/8 steel. I had this same set on an 06 and never had a problem out of them. Too bad I didn't read this earlier, I still have the factory logs in the storage shed. Would have sent them to you for the shipping

Thumbs up

Thanks for the offer, but the one on the left side is warped. Mark's exhaust shop took it off and sure enough it's warped. I never had one warp before and used headers on everything that I owned. There is always a first, but this cost me some money to fix. BBK is fixing the problem and my hat is off to them and will continue to buy stuff from them.

Well, it's done. The new exhaust is on and the new BBK headers came in. Now is the time to get rid of them, not going to use them. Now have an o2 sensor problem since the shop unplugged them and cut the exhaust just below the "Y" and pulled it out as one. Never in a my life why people do things the hard way, just un bolt then bolt up without cutting anything.
