I recently decided that I want a diesel truck. I have a 01 1500 that I love but want to make it into a play truck and upgrade to more power.

I have been looking for awhile now and came across a 2008 cummins with 66k miles. It's the SLT version with a slight lift and tires.

I am wondering if you guys could point out some problems and issues with this particular model that ya'll have came across or know about.

I really like the truck so I may pull the trigger on it and then look at fixing potential problems.

Well the 08 had all the new emission junk that they stuffed under the hood and under the truck. It had issues when it came out with all the emissions but by now most of the problems are fixed. Of course you can fix all those problems with one simple thing. Its called deleting all the emissions.

 

The first versions of the 6.7 had alot of emission issues. The older versions have less hp.. and torque. In 2010, they came out with the h.o. version 350hp 800lb Ft torque. 600 torque with the manual trans.

 

Don't get me wrong, they are good trucks with a great engine in it. I'm sure by now the previous owner has had all the issues worked out by now.

 

It sound like a good truck and the price is right. I may get this one
