Exhaust size

I have a 2004.5 Cummins looking to put a stock exhaust back on it, from the turbo to the tail pipe. Would the stock exhaust from a 2003 Cummins fit/work on my 2004.5? I've heard some people say 2003-2004 is 3.5" exhaust and 2004.5-2006 is 4". Please enlighten me!
