Default Cold Air Intake...................

I have a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 with a 5.9L Cummins Diesel engine on board. I was wanting to put a cold air intake on it, but was wondering if there are any specifically recommended for this engine that may stand above the others, as far as power, torque, etc.,, Any input would be most helpful, thank you.

Not sure about a diesel, but on a gasser, CAI's do absolutely nothing besides look and sound cool.

Your stock set up is more CAI, than anything after market.

S&B and Afe are just some popular options but don't expect tremendous power improvement.

Maybe i'm tripping but I installed the K&N intake on my Ram (one of the few CA legal ones *grumble grumble...*). But I noticed not only a nice engine sound improvement but I can tell my Hemi has much better throttle response as well as it revs better and can tell its breathing better.

It was also a drunken eBay purchase one night. #NoRagrets

*misspelled that on purpose. Haven't seen how the grammar police is on here yet lol*

It's all about the butt dyno. If you "think" it works, then, by golly, it works. That's all that matters. I run a CAI on all my vehicles just cause I like how they sound, but I really don't notice any mpg or power improvements. I get the el cheapo ones. I refuse to spend that much money for a name on it when I can get the same thing for a 3rd of the cost of eBay or Amazon. I won't discourage anyone from buying one, I just won't tell them they will see amazing gains in any one area from installing one.
