I have an 08 3500 6.7 exhaust delete,XRT tuner. I deleted the exhaust and installed the tuner,all was working great untill a friend brought his 2014 f250 over. I hooked my tuner to his truck to to show him how it worked, i touched change vehicles and it instantly vin locked, i havent unloaded the tune from my truck, its still loaded in my truck but says its vin locked to an 2011 f250 and shows a vin. I had a friend run the vin and its actually a 08 dodge vin number. When i hook to my truck it says communicating with computer but will never communicate, wont read codes or anything. H&S is shutdown now, is there anyone that can help resolve this.

 

UH, yah. Basically all tuners vin lock to the vehicle they're tuning. I suggest calling the manufacturer and plead your case and see if they'll unlock it for you. Also, all tuners I've heard of---and its not that many, I'm no authority by any means, are programmed for specific manufacturers and years of build of vehicles.
