Cool Transmission Dashboard Indicator Question

Greetings! I drive a 2002 Ram 1500 Quad Cab with a 5.9L engine and the 46RE transmission. I have a problem that I have been chasing off and on for awhile now. When I shift into Park, the dashboard indicator is showing that I am in Reverse, while the transmission is actually in Park. The truck won't start unless the indicator is in Neutral. All of the other indicators work as they should. I replaced the Transmission Position Sensor today, hoping that would take care of the problem, but it still exists. I was told by an AAMCO shop that it was the 'Manual Lever Position Sensor', but I am relatively certain that it is another name for the TPS.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
