Default Key Fob Issue

just bought a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie.

the one key fob they gave me worked when I got the truck...the next day (after some stereo work) the remote only works if the truck is on. I still have the stereo and overhead light console removed. Is that causing the issue?

Sorry if this is a rookie question...tried searching under a couple of different queries, but no luck

Haven't heard of that one. The fob receiver is in the roof above the console, I think. Maybe you loosened an always-hot lead (or moved one)?

Found the problem...

Replaced the fuse and it's good to go.

First time I've run in to a problem not disconnecting the battery.

Lesson learned.
