My new 06 Ram came with a Sat radio option from the factory and a 1yr free subscription to Sirius. Does this mean I dont have a choice with companies? Also how much $$$ is it gonna cost me after the year is up to keep the Sirius subscription?? I have XM through my SAT in my house and I love it so I probably will be hooked after a year and keep it in the truck.

No, you won't have a choice between the two. Most manufacturers have aligned themselves with one or the other and DC has gone with Sirius. It's like Directv or Dish if you do satellite TV--one won't work with the other.

I think the cost per month after your freebie is like $12 a month or so.

Let's see, XM has MLB and 30 minutes of Oprah!. Sirius has NFL, NBA, NASCAR '07 forward, NHL, Howard, etc.

If you live north of St Louis a good chunk of your XM reception will not be satellite but terrestial repeaters. (XM has over 800 repeaters in the US due to their choice of 2 geostat equatorial birds). Sirius has fewer than 100 repeaters because they have 3 birds circling right over the USA and Canada. We have tried XM vs Sirius side by side here in Mpls. Sirius reception is WAY better than XM. I can get Sirius reception inside our building in downtown Mpls. XM just doesn't cut it.

XM is the spawn of Hughes Elec. which itself is the spawn of GM. Strike three for XM.
