Default Monroe shocks ???

Has anyone had any experience with "Monroe 58637 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber" (
Amazon.com: Monroe 58637 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber: Automotive Amazon.com: Monroe 58637 Sensa-Trac Load Adjusting Shock Absorber: Automotive
) ?
I was looking at the Rancho 9000s but a few people suggested these. THey are set up to help with load leveling and I could get 2 for about $90. Just wanted some feed back to see if anyone has put them on? These would be going on the rear.

I ran the regular sense tracs on my 04. They were great. IMO you would be very happy with the Monroe's. BTW, I towed an 8k travel trailer.

Those springs may result in a slightly harsher ride when empty, but if you are hauling/towing regularly, then those are a good shock.

So with 205k on my '08 I think its time for new shocks. Maybe when it was new it was time? Anyway I really want some decent shocks to buy that will do the job and not break my wallet. So is Monroe the way to go for a good more economical shock? Or is it going to be more noticeable with Bilsteins or Rancho. I guess I could afford them but WHY?

I've been finding that even a modest 800 - 1000 in the bed of mine removes a good two or three inches of lift. I think my leafs are worn, but these shocks might be an affordable bandaid.

Default Ok so back to my original thought

My buddy over at the auto parts store who carried the Monroe said that Monroe is a good brand but added that the set I was looking at would make it a much stiffer ride since I don't really haul often. With that tidbit being said I guess I'm back to the Rancho 9000 series due to the adjustable dial. Has anyone used the adjustable 9000s on their truck? The 9000 are about double that of the 5000s but I get a pretty nice discount so the 9000s would run be about $80 a piece. Keep in mind this thread is only dealing with the rear.

Depends on how much of a tower you are. If you do it on regular bases, you'll be happy with them.

On my '08 1500 I really don't haul that much ever. It is a tow vehicle for about 2 months or less a year with a tow weight of about 3000 lbs. So I really prefer the handling aspect upgrade as a daily driver and maybe let my weight distribution bars on my tow hitch help level out my load when I tow.

I had the adjustable Rancho 9000s on my 1500 (4" of lift) from 2006 right up,until I sold it last year. Best shocks I've ever run...

Rancho shocks are good but Bilsteins are better based on my experience.
