Default 2004 Durango 5.7 engine in to a 2002 Ram 1500 4.7

Hi

Great forum.

I have searched a little and read a little.

I have a 2002 Ram 1500 4x4 4.7L aut.
I just purchased a totaled 2004 Durango 5.7L.

My question is, how much will I have to take from the Durango to get the 5.7 in my Ram?

And what parts will I need to buy?

Hope anyone here can help me

Give it some time man. someone will answer. This has been discussed time and time again. I haven't done it but you pretty much need all the electrical components and computer.its good that you have the whole truck.that way you have everything there. for me,it's to much work and if i want a 5.7 i'll just go buy one instead of changing everything over.

Too expensive in my part of the world to buy a new or used truck.

I would just like to know which parts I have to order, so I can complete the swap as quickly as possible.

Do I need a new exhaust system?
Do I need another oilpan for the 5.7?
Anything else?

Well...the 04 Durango is a CAN bus system. The 02 Ram is a PCI bus; the two are incompatible. So you will need the PCI harness/computer from an 03-05 Ram in order to make it happen (plus the pedal, accessory drive and 100 other things). If you don't want to fiddle with a harness, there are companies that can make you a custom harness to tie it all together, but you still need a PCM, pedal (unless you intend to try and make the hemi run on the 4.7 PCM and a cable TB, doable but not easy), etc. Good thing is your transmision will bolt to the hemi no problem (same trans). How big is your wallet and how good are your fabrication/adapting skills?
