Default 02 ram front shock replacement

Whats the best way to get the bottom bolt loose ? I broke drivers side bolt, had to drill it out and all that fun stuff and prefer not to do other side that way. Lol thought maybe electric impact.

Lefty Loosey. When I did mine, I soaked it with wd-40 the day before. These were the originals from 03.

I'd use plenty of PB Blaster and a BFH.

If possible, use heat on the threads, but be careful not to heat steering components. Generally, use a propane torch or a MAPP torch followed with some type of penetrant. Once loosened, work the fastener back and forth for each successive turn.

You don't list your location, but it sounds like you're in the Rust Belt. Do yourself a favor and get a tube (or bottle) of Anti-Seize. Clean the threads of fastener with a wire wheel and apply a light coating of Anti-Seize to the threads (no need to glop it on). You'll thank yourself the next time you have to replace the shocks.

For future reference, you'll want to do the same for all underside fasteners, including the lug nuts.

use map gas and heat..pb blaster... you'll need to work it in and out to get the oil to work its way in.. a big hammer helps as well... try not to mar up the treads.. they will come out with patience..
