Looking at 2005 ram 1500
What are some things to look for on the 05 rams? Will be test driving one this weekend it is the slt 4×4. Just seeing if anyone know any problems with the 05 I should pay attention to or what not. Body looks good from what I can see no rush on wheelwells or bumpers. Thanks for any input.also the truck has 83,000 on it. Looked up the 05 on line an only seen on recall is there a website to see if that truck got it done? And again thanks

Open recalls on the 2005 right now are for the airbag and the rear pinion seal.
Overall, 2005 is popularly considered one of the best years of the 3rd gen. Aside from the c-clip, Dodge corrected all the previous issues, and it was before all the front end and electrical issues of the Gen 3.5. As long as it was well-maintained, I think you should have a good truck on your hands. Make sure the differentials were serviced on schedule, about the only major thing I can think of. The 3.92 limited slip differential has the c-clip issue, but that's not just limited to '05. The problem was corrected with the later 2005 models, I believe, so it might not even be an issue for the truck in question.

IMO the 2005 is the best year 3rd Gen to own. Like mentioned it's the last year they used simple fuses and relays. Unlike the '04 it has a separate PCM and TCM so it's the most tuneable and last year of the "free lift" torsion front ends (4x4s).
From a simplicity of repair or ease of modification standpoint, it's the one to get if you can find a cherry one...
