Default 2002 sport with a 5.7L Hemi?????

hey everyone. I just recently got my 2002 ram sport 1500 truck from a dealership for 2k. the guy was just going to scrap it out because it wasnt selling and he basically just gave it to me. it was sitting in the lot in a high class Mercedes-Benz dealership, and the salesman thought it was an eye sore so i took it off his hands. The question i have is when i got home and started digging through it i noticed all the badges on it said 5.7L hemi however the vin says 5.9L, the thing i am confused on is that all the numbers i can see on the engine just from opening the hood are all 5.7L parts. I am not very tech savy and i am wondering what is a fool proof way of knowing the engine size i have. if it is not a 5.7L hemi then i need to get the badges off because that is f*^ked.
any info on this problem would be great. thanks.

Unless an engine swap was done it's a 5.9. 5.7 was offered in 2500's in 02 but not in 1500's until 03. Got any pictures? 5.9 is easy to recognize with the "kegger" intake manifold. Looks like a keg cut in half.

Incorrect. 5.7 was never offered on the 2nd gen platform (which an 02 2500 is). Intro was on the 2003.5 1500's. So unless it's an engine swap your choices are 4.7 or 5.9 for the 2002.

So I tried to put pics on here and now the image thing is all friggin weird and puts it at the top every time, so I'll post links.

So basically, a 2002 5.9 (360) looks like this:

A 2002 4.7 looks like this:

Truck hemi looks like this and is not original to your truck:
