Default Heating/Cooling issues

I have a 07 5.7 that has been sitting for the last week. Took it to the store, noticed it getting hot and blowing cold air from heater. Got it home let it cool and noticed it needed half a gallon of coolant. Added coolant let it run with cap off to allow bubbles to escape. Replaced cap, noticed it still getting hot and blowing cold air. Thoughts?

Welcome to the forum, Trav. I tried searching for a TSB that could be related to what you're experiencing, but unfortunately I couldn't find one. Has this occurred for you at all previously? Have you noticed any specific conditions for when this occurs?

Yup, noticed fluid in the area around water pump today. Fun fun! Hard fix? Guess I'll look for some related forums or you tube videos when I get home.
