Default 4.7 v8 clicking relay, engine stumble

Hi Guys,

I have a 04 4.7 Quad Cab. It runs sweet, the engine you can hardly feel running ( normally ) lol. Recently I was driving and noticed that the sound system was goofing about, its one of those android double din touch screen things. Something was upsetting its operation, it was goofing about a bit, Anyway, I also noticed at the time that if JUST the ignition was on, it would be fine, but maybe 30 seconds after I started the engine the stereo would start goofing again. ( it never used to do this and I have had it well over a year ) Then I noticed that the engine idle was a little rough and at the same time a relay under the steering wheel area was going nuts. It will click like crazy for a second or two or maybe longer then settle for a while. The truck runs fine - but doesn't feel right when the clicking starts and has had a noticeable very brief total misfire ( almost like all electrical power was cut to all cylinders simultaneously ) on one or two occasions recently. Also, when I select 4WD with the lever on the floor I get no 4X4 indicator on the dash, which is a new sympton since the relay thing. Is there a relay under the dash area that all engine system voltages run through, that's prone to failure? Any history or ideas guys? It's not throwing any codes, and starts and runs as normal except for when the relay goes crazy. Thanks.

wifes Nitro was doing that before it crapped out, found that her battery was going low and was playing havoc with all the relays and lights, eventually it just crapped out.

Thanks for the input. You might be on to something, I will definitely check the charge level, and connections to the battery. Just drove the truck with the covers off below the steering wheel so when it started ticking I could feel for which relay it was, but the bugger never did it once during an hour or so run to the dump!

Typical uh?
