I woke up one morning to the parking lights barely on and the battery too low to start the engine. I jump started the engine, checked the headlight switch and it was off. Checked / pulled all of the fuses and even swapped the parking light relay. The only way to get the parking lights to go out was to pull the parking light fuse or remove the relay. So the fuses are good, the relay is good and it's not shorted to another circuit.

I went poking around the trailer connectors and everything seemed relatively normal... Until I pulled the license plate bulbs. Both bulbs were blown and one had shorted but not enough to blow the fuse. Apparently the short is what turned on the parking lights draining the battery.

Anyhow, I just wanted to leave this here in case someone runs into a similar problem, hopefully it comes up in Google.
