Hi, I just ordered a set of Black Energy suspension rear Leaf spring bushings, They are marked for a 2 WD but everything I have researched show that the 2 and 4 WD use same factory bushing.

I also ordered new shackles since the bushing in them are getting to look a bit rough, Any tips are changing this stuff? Is it worth it to go Poly or should I have used Rubber?

Am I right that 2wd and 4 wd use same bushing?

Will I notice a difference?

I also ordered new Bolts and Nuts.

 

They are the same, yes, and you may notice a difference. For me, it was 8 months between when I drove it with rubber and poly.

 

I just did that job last weekend. Mine came with the shackle bushings.

 

I am waiting for the kit to come, maybe it does have shackle bushings with it.

 

I'm glad I found this thread because I have had the same search problems looking for leaf spring bushings for my '03 1500 4WD. A couple questions to Joe G.:


Are you happy with how the truck is handing now? any difference with poly now vs. the previous rubber ones? And can you confirm that the 2WD bushings are the same for 4WD?

 

I have not installed them yet, but according to East Coast Mopar the bushings are the same as are the Leaf Springs though dodge. Per Suspension says they dont list them because they never tried them, they used a 2 wheel model for their tests.
