Well scan tool I was loaned I couldn't get to work lol. Go figure. And its not just my truck. Tried it on the neighbors truck and 2 other cars. So something was messed up with it, Looked like it was dropped and I showed it too him before I took it. Anyway im checking wiring through the main loom and all looks good. There are 2 spots where yellow wires go from single to 4 and they don't feel soldered. Anyone know of what those do??? Im trying to not puncture anymore wires than I have to try to figure out whats going on but they don't feel good. Feel loose actually. Plus all my grounds to the body are just crimped into the eyelets and no solder at all. 2 look iffy. Problem is they gave my just enough wire to get there lol. That's a tomorrow project.

Im going to go back and start with the basic tomorrow. My Fuel pump isn't working and that runs off a ground from the computer. If it were my bet id say that wire is broken somewhere. Its brown and white and also is the one going to the ASD relay which isn't working too. Since I do a lot of electrical where I work grounds love to corrode or break as im well aware. If nothing else.............ill run a whole new ground to the Powertrain module rather than sit here for days pulling the whole engine harness apart.

Well buddy of mine came over who used to work at a dealer. He helped me trace some wires and he says the computer is bad. Weird I mean I can understand mine going poof but the reman and doing the same thing??? Either way he told me when they go bad this is exactly what they do on the 04's. So im guessing the rebuilder didn't catch it I don't know. Looking for a known good used one now.

Finding not a lot of help here, I am sure you could use this. Took me a minute to get it uploaded. It is the basics of the instrument panel. This is out of a 2002 factory manual. This takes you through the preliminary procedures. Let me know if you need something more. PM me or something.

Here you go:

Ok checked powers and grounds to the pcm. All good. Have crank and cam signals. Whats weird is my PRNDL indicator is all lit up and my outside temp reads -40. Im lost. Im thinking the loom where it runs behind the motor to the trans is shorted out somehow and boy that looks fun to get out lol.

Got ahold of a used fcm and that fixed my outside temp and some of the interior light issues. Man this thing is costing me. But if it was at the dealership oh my lol! Anyway got some wires yet to probe then pulling the entire engine harness out. Only way to ck it as I do at work it to cut it all open and look for broken or corroded wires. I don't like the way it rolls behind the engine and it actually rubs a corner of the transmission.

Ok different computer and the PRNDL works right. I have Ground on the ground terminal to the ASD relay. The wire that goes to the computer from the ASD I checked and is working. It has .667 volts when the key is turned on yet its a ground. UIs the computer doing this?? Shows the same at the computer connector. Ground is dead though

If I unplug the IAC it will run and die. Which it will do if its unplugged lol. As soon as I plug it in I hear the ASD go dead. That's the only thing causing it. Ive unplugged everything. So I went and got a new one and same deal. But the IAC was not looking too hot anyway. Now I guess I will run down that circuit as im sure there is a short somewhere. Wires are super thin too.
