Default BlackStone Laboratories (oil analysis) Do & Review @ 176K miles

I ordered an analysis kit from BlackStone Laboratories (free) for an oil analysis ($28.00) on my truck. I "think" I am on the hook for the shipping as I do not see a return label with the specimen container. I will call to verify.

Since I haven't been around to have seen what was up with her past (I know I should forget her past ) I want to see how she is doing health wise and if there is something that I have to worry about.. I am at 173.5xx right now, I have another 23xx miles till I change the oil. I just wanted to get this thread started so I have it ready for when I send it off.

Front of package

tyvek envelope.. impressive..

Guess this tyvek envelope is okay.. didn't tear..

first glimpse.. I R excited

Container shipping.. uh.. container.

damn you bright lights

Contents not yet poured out

Of course the plastic bag to go around the sample container that is under my hand

inside cushion for when you send it back.. impact guard

Nifty oil change sticker

Instructions cover, gives the amount of the test $$ and other facts

Instructions 1st page

Instructions 2nd page

Card with your info you send with sample.

Sample for you to compare? They give a readout of those levels once the results are known.. We shall see

Pretty cool. I've seen this done elsewhere for other vehicles. I'm interested in your findings at your next oil change.

I will for sure get this done. I was going to do it first go round, first oil change but forgot about it till after the change. I was a full 2 quarts low first change :/ So I am interested to see what amount I will be short at oil change, and if the tuneup I just did will help with oil consumption.
