Self Service Oil Changes
Looking for general information on how many people that have 2005 or older HEMI on the longer warranty program change their own engine oil. Dealership told me that if I didn't have the dealership do it everytime it would raise eyebrows and possibly effect my warranty. It is a pretty good program and I don't want to raise any issues, but am capable of doing it myself and still have money left for a rainy day.
Just save the reciepts for the oil. I usually jot down the mileage and the hours since last oil change. I average between 75-100hrs per 3K mile oil changes in case anyone is curious. This is mostly city, stop and go driving.
There's no reason you would have a warranty issue from changing your own oil as long as you follow DCs recommended change interval. I've changed my own oil in every vehicle I've owned over the last 25+ years.
