Default No power to the resister / fan motor…

Dodge 2008 RAM Big Horn edition 4.7 liter powereverything…

I’m trying to troubleshoot my heater fan I replaced the resisterwhich produced no results. Then I replaced the switch in the steering column.Still no joy.

So now I’m looking at either the fan motor or possibly a fuse. Iput a multimeter to the connector at the resister and it’s showing nothing. Sothe next thing I’m thinking I should check is the fuse and failing that maybethe actual switch/**** on the instrument panel. Only one problem. I can find nomention or reference to a heater / fan motor fuse anywhere.

Is there in fact a fuse for the AC/Heater blower motor? If so,where can it be found?

Jeez, nothing like starting expensive and working toward cheap. Is there power at the fan control switch? Have you tested the relay? It may have a circuit breaker rather than a fuse. Find the relay and borrow one from another circuit to see if the problem follows the suspect relay.

OK first things first; before I start taking the dash apart ( the switch is behind the instrument panel) I had hoped to check something simple first like the fuse.

So where might this relay be found and what would it look like.

All the searching I've done only turns up info on the resistor and the switch in the steering column and of course the fan speed selector switch in the instrument panel. No mention (reference) anywhere to anything like a circuit breaker or relay.

Frankly I was hoping to hear from someone who might have first hand knowledge on this subject.

Thanks anyway.

The switch is not in the climate control console in the center of the dash? Mine is. I know it's a different year, but from what I've read the center stack comes right out. Mine is remove one screw and yank.

Yes the switch is in the center of the dash. All the youtube videos I've found show having to start from the far left edge and working towards the center disconnecting clips.

Just not a big fan of taking dashs apart. Has always been my experience that they never go back together good. In fact it has always been my experience that the clips often don't survive the process.
