Default Help needed asap!!

I am a new member and I recently purchased an 03 1500 quad cab with the 4.7. I love the truck but have already had to replace a few parts on it. Two days ago the fuel pump went out and I was in the process of replacing it when I dropped the tank the black plastic thing on the back that has two hoses running to it had one hose broken off of it. I can't find online what the part is. The truck runs great with the new pump but now my fuel gauge doesn't work. I don't know if the broken hose has anything to do with it so any help would be appreciated.

Ive already mounted the tank back on the truck. It's a plastic cylinder looking piece that's like right behind the fuel pump. I think it had two hoses running off it.

Sounds like Evap canister. Fuel gauge not working could be the new pump you put in. The float assembly are not that great, of you tweak them or if it's not positioned right it will give you problems.
