Default Coil pack stud

Hi all
Did plugs today and ran into a couple small issues. Had a problem with 2 out of 8 coil packs, specifically getting the nut off the stud. First one just threaded the stud part way out. After messing around with it for a bit I managed to get a set of vise grips on it and got the nut going. But the last couple threads it just busted. Barely any torque either. The second one I had to put a little torque on to get the nut started and it just broke right away. So I am left with two coil packs that aren't secured
I guess my question is whether or not the studs are removable from the valve cover.
If they are not then has anyone run into this and found a different way to secure the coil pack.
Thanks in advance to any responses.
Cheers!
