Default wheeling casualties

I had a good night of wheelin' yesterday. i never really go, but i jsut hopped to it randomly and hit a few decent spots i havnt been before. So anyways to the point of the post...

how many people's horns have died due to water/mud getting in them? I hit a nice sized ditch with about 2 foot deep water, and water splashed over my lights to where it was pitchblack for a second. i didnt find out i had lost my horn until i was looking at my engine bay and my brother had honked my horn at me trying to freak me out. It was the funniest sound ever to come from this truck. Sounded bubbily and jsut the high pitch horn was working...slightly. But so far its fixed, cleaned out the high pitch horn and removed the low horn and installed a nice air horn...sounds like a train now.

But who all else had broken something off roading/mudding? lets hear some stories

Default RE: wheeling casualties

Got an 02 1500 5.9 QC. Only had it off road a few times, but it did better than I thought. Haven't broken anything yet. Mainly been in the mud, look at the pictures I have posted, there is one on there from me muddin early this summer. Had it buried pretty bad but managed to floor my way out of it with out any help. Thinking of getting a lift kit and some tires for the next time I go thru.

Front Diff skid plate now looks like a big steel "W". (new Superlift skid plate is much tougher)

Ripped the passenger side half shaft out at the outer CV (new aftermarket unit seems identical)

Wrecked the factory booted CV in the front drive shaft. (new custom built shaft can bend into a knot almost, with no binding)

Both u joints in the rear drive shaft have failed ( the new thicker and servicable units are worlds better)

The Hemi went belly up, at 42000 miles, the piston in cylinder 6 developed a crack and destroyed the rings which bounced around in the chamber causing serious damge.( dodge gave me a new one for $100)

A visit to the body shop because some knucklehead tried to squeeze by me while i was stopped on the trail (not my fault on this one)

And i have done the horn thing as well. After a good spray with the hose it seemed to come back to life.

I go wheeling quite a bit. Can't seem to get enough and there is so much open land here in AZ that you can't see it all in a lifetime.

Say what you will about how i drive my truck.....but i have a hell of alot of fun and that's why i bought it.[sm=exactly.gif]
