Default Ram 1500 4.7l oil pump question

Hello sorry for this to be my first post but i did not see a how to on the forum. I am replacing an oil pump for a friend and the FSM says to just put in a new pump and there does not seem to be a gasket between the oil pump and block. I am guessing the surfaces are smooth and could seal but still does not seem right. Any other car i ever saw had a seal for the pump. I know the pick up tube has a seal but is there possibly a common practice of putting some rtv on oil pump outlet flange?

No RTV I do believe there is no gasket. Metal to metal seal.
