2004 Dodge Ram 1500 cruise control shuts off after 5 mph
I'm the I'm the original owner of 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Hemi Sport 2WD. It has 148,000 miles on it and still running strong on original spark plugs. _
I noticed the cruise control stopped working last Sunday. Would not come on while driving but it will when truck is at complete stop and then it turns itself off after reaching 5mph. No engine light and c-codes appear to indicate problems. Everything is normal.
I looked up for answers here and found some. Anyone here know a way for diy to check speed sensors and abs speed sensors if they are good or not? I don't have fancy electronic tools. Only have voltmeter. Your help and advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the reply. Will check into it this weekend. I had that LF hub replaced almost a year ago. Should still be under warranty with Advance Auto.
I assume that right wheel hub doesn't have a speed sensor?
Of course I have been planning to replace the spark plugs.
I know they have been long overdue. Looking at the engine head made me procrastinate. Don't look easy to replace the plugs. They don't make them easy like the old days.

It may also just be a cut wheel sensor wire from the rotors, happen to me shortly after I bought the dually, replaced the sensor and zip tied it in place.
You really should replace the plugs, before they can't be extracted from the heads, they're cheap to buy, and seriously improve the running condition of the truck.
You need a swivel head 6 pt. plug socket, 4" extension and 3/8" ratchet to get it done. If you have compressed air, blow out the plug hole before removing the plugs to keep crud out of the cylinders, do each plug set individually so you don't get any of them mixed up.
