Default So Confusedd

I've got a 02 Ram 1500, 4.7l with about 87,000 miles on it, automatic.
Sometimes I start my truck and it just stalls out, sometimes I could be driving either being at a stop, at low rpms or downshifting and it'll just stall out? But not all the time? It could do it all day, and not again for weeks? Doesn't matter the weather. What do you think it is? Guages are fine, guages are fine with it acts up too. Also how do I get it to stop slamming gears and not shifting? It doesn't like going into reverse or drive unless I sit there for about a minute before taking my foot off the brake. Reverse likes to slip into nutural and drive into second, but I make sure I put it completely in gear? I also feel a hard bang in my transmission when I pull onto my road its a small downhill stant. Maybe 40 degrees, when I slow down to turn then hit the gas and seems like it shifts hard. What to do? ?

Check the IAC for the stalling issue. Trans could be anything. Any service ever performed on the transmission?

May I ask what is IAC? And no, not that I know of. Not since I've owned it.

IAC is the idle air control. Controls idle. Cheap to replace. It's on the throttle body. Might be worth taking it to a trans shop for a diagnosis.
