Default Random long starts, bad fuel accumulator?

I've had an issue with my 04 Hemi Ram on an off for about a year now (the last month more consistently) when I go to start my truck it won't fire off instantly, it will crank for about 1-2 seconds then fire off. Truck runs perfect once running, absolute monster for power with my superchips tuner and headers.

I've recently tried just turning key in the on position for 2-3 seconds before I attempt to start the truck and in doing so truck will instantly fire up each and every time, So its obvious to me because of that that the fuel rail isn't staying primed up after sitting a few hours. If I'm to guess I'd assume its a fuel accumulator issue like what used to go wrong on Neon's, but I've had random convo's with people who have said our rams fuel pumps have their check ball valve built into them to take the place of a fuel accumulator?.

I have not bothered to really research the issue or investigate it on my truck just yet because right now its just a minor issue I'm assuming, but instead of randomly worrying about what it could be I'd rather first ask the forum and get a feel for if its something stupid or common going wrong on the truck, much like the check ball valves in the trans cooler lines that used to toast 2nd Gen Ram Transmissions when they would stick causing trans to overheat, I wanna focus my efforts on the most likely cause.

Sounds like a possible pump issue. Put a fuel gauge on it and see if it bleeds off. Then you will know for sure.
