Default Battery Temperature Sensor Wire Harness

Hey guys,
I'm new here to Dodge Forum and have been looking for an answer to my concern.
I have a 2004 Ram 1500 4x4 Quad Cab. It's the ST trim (basic everything) and I have been making some "upgrades" to the truck - putting in those items that initially did not come with it (underhood light w/wire harness, glove box light, fog lamps, etc.).
When I purchased my truck two months ago, the voltage gauge wasn't and still isn't working. I was told that the PCM wasn't communicating with the gauge and may have to be changed out.
NOTE: I have not had ANY issues with the battery or alternator up to the my posting to this forum.
During a recent check, I pulled out my battery and realized that the battery temp sensor was not present which made me wonder if this was the reason why the PCM was not communicating with the voltage gauge. I purchased the sensor and, when I went to install it, I couldn't find the wire harness for it to connect to. Any ideas as to where the wire harness is located? Did the ST trim for 2004 even have a battery temp sensor and if it did, where would the wire harness be coming from?

Look on Weedahoe's page. He has service manuals.
