Default Brake Light staying on

Hi guys.

'05 2500 4WD 5.9 Cummings

My brake light is staying on. It is not blinking. Steady red. I noticed it will not be on in the morning when I start up, but at some time in the day, it will light up. I do not think it is the emergency brake sensor, but I am not for sure.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
David

You just need to replace the brake light switch, the part behind the pedal. I had the same problem with my SRT and brothers Cummins, cheap and easy fix

I'm sorry if I wasn't clear. It is the warning light in the dash that is staying on. Same fix?

That indicates a brake system problem as well as the e-brake being on. Check the fluid level, check your brakes for worn pads, leaking piston/cylinders and/or the brake light switch at the brake pedal and the ebrake pedal.
