If you try to adjust/ change balance - fade; Equalizer levels, as you turn the ****, the numerical value jump up high, jump real low...just bounce all over the place. If you turn the **** really really really slow and careful, (like picking lint off a wildcat's tail) you can get the levels to change one value at a time....
