Default 2005 ram 1500 help

Hi. I recently bought a 2005 ram 1500 4x4 with the 5.7l v8 hemi. The truck has some issues that i dont know the cause of. The truck will start fine but half the time driving it the rpms run high (3000-3500 at 60mph) the trans will slip around 30mph and my accelerator pedal is lagging, while the other half of the time the truck runs perfect the rpms run about 1500 at 60 and if i put the accelerator to the floor the trans wont slip. Any thoughts on what could be causing this. Or solutions would be greatly apreciated.

Try the TPS on the throttle body. Throttle Position Switch this will affect the idle and tranny at the same time. While your there clean the throttle body inside with cleaner for TB's. I dont think there is an IAC valve on the Hemi's so that cant be removed and cleaned. But replace the TPS about $35 at autozone and get cleaner for the throttle body. Good luck
