To replace that U-joint, you need to remove the wheel, brake caliper, and rotor. Remove the Axle nut, (requires a huge socket, I think it's 1 5/16, not sure). Then you need to remove the unit bearing, which can be extremely difficult, as they are usually rusted in place. There's tips on the web which may or may not work. The one I would stay away from is using the power steering to break the hub free. You may destroy your power steering pump in the process. Others are heat, which can destroy the bearing itself. Depending on your funds, you may want to replace it anyway. After the bearing is out, you can slide the axle assembly out of the housing. Be very careful, as the splines on the end are razor sharp, and can easily damage the oil seal which can only be replaced by pulling the pumpkin cover and removing the gears and the other axle!
Then you can go about removing the joint. Remove the retainer clips on top of the caps, and press them out. Do Not beat on them with a big hammer, you WILL bend the yoke, requiring a new axle. Might just be best to order a new axle with joint installed. This is not a shade tree mechanic job, unless you live where there is no rust!! Of course if that was the case, your joint would probably still be good!
