2004 Ram 1500 outside temp display problem
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 85 k miles
My over head temp display is stuck on -40 degrees.
I ordered a new sensor installed and same problem.
I did the reset and step button test and it said PASS
Some test I did
I checked the connector for a short nothing
I checked both sides of connector left side has 5 volts and right side has continuity to ground.
I also put a short across the connector and the display showed 131 degrees.
So i think the connector to the display seems ok.
Has anyone had this problem?
What did you do to fix the problem.
the connector out front that connects to the sensor does it go directly to the display with no other connections under the hood.
If you did trace your 2 wires where are they located after they go under the fuse box under the hood.
thanks

Possible your ambient air temp sensor has gone **** up. On yours it will be bolted to the inside of the driver's headlight. Dunno if you can see the white circle in the pic, but that's where it is. They used the same one for years so it's relatively easy to find (I might even a spare or two laying around).
In my post i said I did buy a new oem sensor replaced and the same problem.
I'm leaning towards either in the fuse box corrosion or the fcm front control module.
In the fcm it gets signal from the sensor and then sends to the display something might be wrong in the fcm so I have a replacement on its way its not correct # but gonna see if something happens and the try to find the correct fcm module # 56051036AD
