Default NP241 DLD transfer case question

I have my transfer case completely disassembled and am preparing to buy and install a kit. The Service Manual mentions a brass stop ring, synchro hub struts, and synchro springs. My transfer case doesn't appear to include any of these yet I believe this T case was working properly (inexperienced jump to a wrong conclusion). It shows little to no wear-no broken pieces in the magnet, no cracks or chips in the gears or anything of that nature.
My questions: Is it normal for this T case not to include these parts, what are these parts for, and how is that function provided for in T cases without them?

From the data plate:

Model 241DLD
Assy No. 52105 024AD
SN 8 02J1
Ratio 272

Thanks much.
