Default Sound deadening 04 ram laramie

Hi all, first off this is my 1st post here on DodgeForum!

Im looking to see if anyone has used sound deadening materials in the doors or other places around the truck. I have a 04 2500 Double cab Long bed laramie. Its got 190,000 miles on it so i know squeaks and rattles are normal. Just looking to quiet it up a bit. Dynamat seems way too expensive for what it is... maybe I'm wrong??

Any advice is well appreciated!

Mike

Not only is it expensive, it's a PITA, labor-wise. I considered it in mine, but the material cost and the labor involved cooled that off pretty quickly.

It's not as fancy as Dynamat, but I used a roll of butyl rubber for sound dampening in my '06 QC when I upgraded the sound system. I was able to find a 6"X 75' roll for less than $10 at my local home depot. It gave off a slight smell but cleared up in less than a day. I suggest checking out the duct insulation section at your local home improvement store. I've seen guys use the sheet foam/foil rolls and fiberglass mats before and it does the trick.

I used boom mat. The sheets and the spray. Spray works well in doors.
