Default 2003 ram 1500 5.7 motor ticking

hey guys, got a 5.7 hemi that has about 250k on it and all of sudden one day, it just started ticking and the ticking gets faster as the RPMs do. Had 2 mechanics come out and they said 2 different things. First was the timing chain, then the lifters. And ideas. Thank you

not without hearing the noise...post a link.

I had people come with with a tick noise that turned out to be leaking exhaust manifolds...so its impossible to say from description alone.
