ash tray lighting
Hi all...
I want to do a project... I want to install the same lighting that lights the ash tray and cup holder in my '05 quadcab in the cubby hole below the A/C controls. (The factory should have done this to begin with.) Problem is the light is no longer available (pn 55361226AA). I can do individual LED bulbs, but I don't know what voltage bulbs to start with. Do any of you know how I can get one of those lights? Anyone know anyone parting out a 3rd gen Ram?
Thanks all.

I did the lighting in my cup holder with blue leds.
You need 12volt leds to do this. Look in ebay for 12 volt leds and just remove the cup holder and you will find an area to mount the leds. On the leds the longer lead is positive and the shorter lead is ground. Make sure all leads are shielded with tape or shrink tube. Or you can use the led strip tape which will do a good job also. It has little leds in a strip that you power with 12 volts. Make sure you put a fuse in line with the +12v or you can tap off the cigarette lighter for power so if something happens you will no have any wires burn up. The leds will draw very little current so you should be good with leds.
Good luck
