Fuel tank strap replacement- HELP!!
Are the bolts that hold the fuel tank straps threaded through the frame?
I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 quad cab. The underside of the truck has seen better days and as a result, a fuel tank strap has recently rusted through and broken. I have purchased new straps and have taken on the challenge of doing the work myself. The problem is the bolt was way too rusted to try and take the nut off so I had to grind it off. I am now left with a little nub of the post/bolt. I was able to put a 1/2 socket on the top of the bolt between the bed and the frame and it wont break loose.I have hit it with PB Blaster and still nothing. I can get a hammer on it but it does not push thru. Should I keep at it with a hammer or should I just drill it out at this point?
