A/C not blowing cold? 4.7L
Hello all, I have an 07' 1500 Ram with the 4.7L. The A/C blows cool, but not cold. It doesn't matter if it's on recirculate or not. Fan speed does not effect it either. It just doesn't blow cold anymore. I checked the level of refrigerant and it's right in the middle of where it needs to be, so it doesn't need to be charged. Any advice on what I should do to get it to blow cold again?
The condenser fan is coming on and the clutch is engaging.
Just replaced the belt about 500 miles ago, thinking that was the problem.

Over the years in Az I have seen a lot of problems with a/c. The old r12 systems were very easy to charge by using gauges or the old sight glass on the dryer. And I've had a lot of arguments about charging r134 with gauges. And really am not going get into a lot of discussion about it. Saying that r134 is very difficult to correct using gauges there are so many varibles - RPM, ambient temperatures, inside temperatures etc. R134 is very sensitive to over charging and under charging much much more than R-12 The only way to 100% accurate charge and get the system to its most efficient. Is to charge by weight. The manufactor gives a specification in lbs and oz on how much in freon to install. Most people and shops do not want to do it this because the system has to be completely evacuated which takes time, and then you need an accurate scale to fill.it. Before you say BS do some research. If you want it right---- evacuate the system and charge with a weight scale .
