I bought a 2007 2500 single cab hemi 4x4 with 17 inch rims. Its tire buying time.

I want to run at least 285 70 17 and maybe bigger. How big can i go without spacers or lifting it and not get rubbing

Websites like discount tire will tell you the sizes you can safely go with stock wheels and suspension.

You should be able to run 35" with a level kit, offset ball joint, and correct after market wheel offset. This is what i run. Also make sure to upgrade shocks or your tires will cup.

 

ended up getting a set of take off's from a 2017 ram...285/60/20 load range E...new tires, rims and tpms (which i removed) all for the price i would have paid for the 17" tires alone.

no clearance issues with the stock set up, vibration issues gone. reset the tire size in the tipm and the speedo is spot on.
