Default Speed sensor

So a couple weeks ago my ABS, traction control, and ESP BAS lights came one and my cruise shut off while driving 75 down the highway. The speedometer also started jumping around when I would hit big pot holes. I had diagnostics run on it, said it was right rear speed sensor. Went to get a new one and it says it goes on the top of rear end however the only ones I could find were on back side of the hub assembly. So I changed the right side one and I still have the problem. Any help would be appreciated. Truck is an 07 1500 and has right at 100,000 miles. Thanks.

Default Check

Check that you don't have a wheel bearing going out as these will make all of those lights come on. Secondly if you have access to a scanner dona road test while watching the scanner and read all four tires wheel speeds. They should all be the same while going straight at a constant speed. If you have one that is off then there is ur culprit. A one mph difference in the sensor speed will set all of those lights. Dodge does have a problem with rear wheel sensors but if I replaced it hopefullly not from auto zone(bad faulty parts ) then that's should be it probably in the front. Could be wheel bearing or rust and cotamanet build up on the sensor. Hope this helps

or it could be broken wires. the wires run from the sensor to the abs module. ohm check the wires to find an open. if open, you will have to run new wires. they must be run as a twisted pair to reduce electrically induced interference.

I believe if any one of the front sensors quit the ABS light comes on, and cruise control will not work. If the speedo quits, then it is the rear sensor on the ring gear for sure.

I had a broken wire issue to the rear axle. The sensor on mine is held in with one bolt or nut, but I have had to replace the sensor twice there and once each on both sides the front axle. The root of some of my issues is where the wiring harness connected to the top of the ABS. The male connection is on the ABS and located such that it held water, thus rusting off the prongs. My fix was to get a new ABS module, solder wires onto the metal prongs, then fill with epoxy so that water could never get in again. I drive a lot on the beach where I live and salt water was making it's way into all kinds of places. LOL. Somewhere I have a wiring diagram that tells me the colors of the wire for the back wheel sensor, but I would have to dig around in the office to find it.
