Default Big Three

With Ford and GM announcing major layoffs, closing plants, and reducing amount of vehicle production!
Has anyone heard if Dodge is also struggling or are they doing better than ford and gm?
Thanks for the help.

I was actually watching an interview with an economic analyst on the subject of the big three. He mentioned that GM and Ford were hurting financialy and that the Chrysler company really wasn't, or at least not like Ford and GM. It was this guys' opinion that of the big three; Chrysler, overall was putting out a better product than Ford or GM and they were actually gaining in the overall marketshare because of it.

They made money in every quarter, last time I checked. Not sure about the most recent, but I think that they are better off than both Ford and Chevy.

They thing that is killing Ford and Chevy are the cost of benefits. They have the best benefit/retirement package of the auto makers by far. I saw the numbers publish in Time magazine and it was outrageous compared to any other company manufacturing vehicles in the US.

It isn't there fault they take care of there employees.

I also meant within the last couple of years. It is okay, they all go through cycles. The gov't was bailed Chrysler out in the past, give another few years, they'll be okay. Bob Lutz better step it up though and produce some significant new models. I would hardly consider the Colorado/Canyon and the SS/R (I think that is the name, the PT wannabe) significant.
