I have an 05 dodge ram 5.7 2 wd and I live in fl. We just had hurricane irma sit over us for over 24 hrs with solid rain and now my truck is making the sound that my alternator went out andl it won't turn over.d. My husband is acting like I'm an idiot and left something on but I didn't. I listened to the weather update for 20 min. During the storm with the key in acc position then started the engine to ensure the battery wasnt drained and shut it off. This morning it wouldn't crank and looked at the pos. Term and it was covered in something that looked like blue foam. I cleaned it but the truck still wouldnt start so we jumped it off. It starts but wont stay running and the security light is on solid (not blinking like a usual complaint I've seen] and I can hear some morse code clicking in the dashboard. Can anyone help. I cant. Understand why he would think the Bart was dead because the hood light is bright and its not showing any other signs of a bad batt except when I try to crank it it clicks like the alternator went out.. Any advice is much appreciated!

 

It is the battery, I shut mine off to get gas and it would not start, replaced the battery and is running fine.
