4wd issues following solenoid "replacement"
My hubby bought an 06 dodge ram 1500. I have an issue with him buying vehicles he likes without properly test driving them. The day after we brought it home we turned it on and it wouldn't go into park or neutral. Turns out they recently changed the tranny. Sent it back to the place where they changed the transmission. Picked it back up 4 days later, parked it, turned it off. Same thing happens when I turn it back on n now Ive got a truck full of kids in a hot day in a truck I can't turn on. So I fiddle with the gears for nearly a half an hour till I finally get it to go into neutral and turn on. Called the dealership and took it back to the idiot who said he fixed it. This time he says it's the solenoid. So they supposedly change the solenoid, I pick it up again. Now it acts like it's stuck in 4wd despite the button on the dash saying 2wd. So I adjust it properly running a bit in reverse and now it's working much better than it was but still hopping on turns and when swithing gears at highway speeds. Also it takes much longer than it should to change from and to 4wd. I'm not taking it back to the same garage even if that means the dealership refuses to cover the work done. I just need an idea of what this is and what it'll cost me before I go looking for another tranny mechanic. Thanks in advance.
