I am swapping 5.7 hemi motor had i believe 4 MDS sensors in the top of the block

Default I am swapping 5.7 hemi motor had i believe 4 MDS sensors in the top of the block

2008 ram 1500 swapping and putting an 06 block. it just had 4 sensors on the top of block under the intake that the 06 didn't what are these called ? I know they should just pull out but I managed to snap off 3 of the 4

those would be your mds silinoids. pain in the rear to remove. if you don't have the mds system. there are plugs that you can get to fill the holes.

They ALWAYS snap off. After soaking with penetrant AND lubricant, I wedge a flathead screwdriver vertically into the center, try to twist the whole unit, then pry them out with pliers on the screwdriver. Just don't leave any small pieces down in the holes. You'll need a small magnet to get anything out that falls in. I would also replace the short wiring harness that goes to them while you're in there.
