2007 ram hemi p0404
I have replaced Egr valve in my 2007 ram 5.7 ltr. code p0404 still comes on after a couple hours of driving. took it back off , cleaned out ports and vacum hose with carb cleaner, re installed, still comes on. what should i do?
Return the faulty new EGR and get another new EGR
Check wiring and connector to the EGR valve
Replace the PCV valve
Check around the throttle body and intake manifold assemblies for tightness, sources of vacuum leaks, sound connections
Disconnect battery for 1 hour, resetting PCM
Test the O2 sensors by monitoring readings a OBD reader tool
Replace the spark plugs, all 16 of them, with standard copper plugs. (NO platinum or iridium). NGK #5306

What brand EGR did you use? I am having the same problem. I replaced mine with aftermarket. I just bought a mopar one and hoping fixes the problem. Installing this weekend. Been deal with the light on for 6 months. Sucks.
