06 build

Default 06 build

I have a 06 1500 regular cab short bed 4x4 with the 4.7 ,6speed manual getrag 238 tranny it only has 80,000 miles ,I have put a 2.5 leveling kit ,20 in rims bigger tires an true straight pipes from the cats back,I plan on running the 4.7 till it dies an then upgrading, is there any recommendations on upgrades to the 4.7 before I swap or build a motor for it an when I do swap which way do I go diesel or gas,

Diesel or gas is your own choice. Depends on what you use the truck for.

If you maintain the 4.7, there's no reason it won't last well in to the 200k range. 80k is just getting broken in. With the wheels and tires you put on it, the transmission will give out before the engine does.

yeah that is why I bought the manual transmission ice heard horror story's about automatics

Keep it fed with oil, 4.7s main issues are they get oil starved. I own a hemi, I never skips a beat but I want more, remember it's a truck...a charger or challenger would be better to be quick.

I want to b able to climb n the biggest mud hole I can find an throw a lot of mud if I want to lol
